In this post, I want to highlight during the time when my family decided to reunite after four years living separately. I can say that it was not easy for me to adapt because I don’t see myself as a very confident person, and especially harder when your parents took it lightly since they already used to move to another city a lot. Read on for more details about how I managed to overcome the anxiety of a small kid in unfamiliar place.

I decide to group all three years into one article since I think there were not many major events during these years. The major topic in this piece was a child without a father figure and mom who struggled to raise three kids by herself. I am still grateful since my parents managed to bring us on holiday to Bali where my father drove all the way from Kediri to Kuta in 1999. And my father managed to bring me and my older brother for a vacation in Jakarta during a school holiday in 1997.

Many things happened during this year and I would say this was a start of next journey in the next few years later on. Some of the highlights including my brother was born in May and not long after that my father got promoted and had to reallocate to Jakarta. A huge city from my point of view and all of our family circles at that time. Carry on if you want to know the details.

I still spent this year in the same city. And during this year, we moved into our third house which located near the first house. There are definitely some stark memories during this time, including my grandmother from my father passed away and an event in my school. I will explain it in more detail shortly.

Our first house in this small city called Tulungagung was huge. I remember we had a big tree with lots of crazy ants. It was a rent though. In fact, my family finally had their first house way later in 2000. Okay so the highlights around this time were the following:

I was born at March 20, 1990 in a capital city of South Borneo, Banjarmasin. My older brother was 4 years old when I took my first breath. Heard from my mother that it was difficult time. Both of my parents are Javanese and the only reason we were there was because my dad’s job. He worked in a bank from the moment he graduated from high school until he retired. But on 1990 he got his bachelor degree so my mom said things got a bit better.
